I love cereal. I could quite literally have cornflakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner without getting bored or sick of it. There is just so much variation… Having said that, I am very particular about the cereals that I eat. In fact, I’ll go as far as to say that I’ve only ever really loved like four cereals in my time… Off the top of my head, those four are: Crunchy NutHoney Cheerios, Coco Pops and now… Blueberry Wheats.

I’ve got a confession, I stopped eating Coco Pops (which was always my go-to) just last year after discovering that there is as much sugar in a single/in a relationship/married serving of Coco Pops as there is in a Coke can. That amounts to 35%. This is ridiculous. Look, I knew it wasn’t (exactly) healthy, but I didn’t think it was that unhealthy.

So, rather than having Cheerios every morning or evening, I’ve now started alternating between them and these little pillows of blueberry juicy goodness! ICYMI: they’re wholegrain too. Not partialgrain… But: WHOLE!

Blueberry Wheats are pillows filled with blueberry jam, I am obsessed with them. They are not only a lot healthier for you than Coco Pops, but dare I say it… They taste better too! I’m someone who could quite easily substitute fruit over chocolate. I just love fruit.

I disliked Shreddies (the original cereal pillows) because I always found them tasteless… However, these are Shreddies, but tastier — with jam inside. #YUM 😋

If I’m honest, blueberry flavouring is one of my most favourite flavourings… For instance, I’d prefer a blueberry muffin to a chocolate chip one, any day. If there’s a blueberry something and other, I’ll choose the blueberry one, always.

I can’t say I’m particularly a fan of the fruit itself – eaten raw – though… But, the flavouring (in other products such as jam or yoghurt) is one of the best (second to strawberry). I mean, I love blueberry smoothies…

That said, I can’t justify eating a pack of raw blueberries (which are practically the pre-smoothie phase), without yoghurt or something to accompany them…

I find that blueberries (eaten raw) can be* tasteless. Blueberries, to me, taste just like water with a very mild hint of fruit. Blueberries are the celery of fruits, in my opinion… But, someone has really enhanced their flavour when putting them in jam, yoghurts etc. Thank you, kind person!


Anyway, I love blueberry things, and this is a blueberry cereal which found its way into my basket (and mouth)… If you’re into this kind of thing (fruits and/or cereals), then it should find its way into yours too! Oh, before I forget, it’s £2 and exclusive to Sainsbury’s.

PSA: you won’t find Theresa May and her friends frolicking in your bowl of Blueberry Wheats… So, if that’s not a bonus, I don’t know what is.
