Although London is currently experiencing a lovely little heatwave, my skin is anti that… 😢 It doesn’t tan, like, at all!
I’ve been to Switzerland, twice, and Barcelona once. Each time, I only discovered that I’d (very slightly) tanned when my skin peeled a week or two after getting back…
Oh, and Vitamin D doesn’t help either – but then again, neither do tanning beds (as I’m major scared that a) I’d get stuck in one, b) I’d catch a germ-related disease from sitting in one, c) I’d get skin cancer or d) that it’d explode with me inside).
Jheeze. That escalated quickly. Damn, should’ve taken the lift. I also feel the need to say that I’m not always this morbid, I promise.
Anyway, so far we have established that I’m not great at being a Lebanese British Polar Bear (most days, weeks, months, and years) nor am I great at naturally or unnaturally tanning.
Don’t even get me started on those gradual tanning creams… I’ll be applying those until I’m 80 still trying to “gradually” tan to no avail. At that age, I’d probably catch a glimpse of a Cheeto-skinned woman in my reflection and think to myself: “WHO DAH?!” That’s legit how long it’d take… With that in mind, my only option is to mousse it on like some (hum)mousse-apien. I love hummus, and people. ❤️
Three paragraphs into this post, and I can finally assure you that Cocoa Brown’s Gradual Self Tanning Mousse is my new saving grace.
Although I’ve just recently invested in it (even though I’d been meaning to for YEARS), I can already see a difference which I couldn’t wait to blog about…
All in all, I love the golden glow that I get from it. True to its word, I transformed from ‘Miamii the anti-sun tanning human being’, to ‘Miamii who’s just got back from Saint Tropez where she overdosed on Mojitos and ate plenty of them enchiladas’ in as little as an hour.
My skin now looks the way it would after countless minutes spent applying the X-Pro II filter and regulating the hue and saturation of my selfies to (my version of) perfection on Instagram. #NoFilter.
Packaging: pink, sparkly and glamorous.
Streaks: none (unless you count the ones you’ll find in between your fingers if you apply it mittless).
Appearance: sun-kissed with a glow… The sun smooches your skin so hard that it catches feelings!
What you’ll need: a tanning mitt (so your hands don’t streak).
How long does it take to dry: It’s pretty quick drying.
How long does it last? I applied it this morning, and it says that it lasts for 7 days – so I’ll update you all then.
