Bobbi Brown. Bobbi Brown… Bobbi. Brown. Have I mentioned Bobbi Brown? In case you were wondering, this post is about none other than: Bobbi Brown.
Cream foundations are to me what working out is to athletes. I do not think that I’m myself – my true self – without a good cream foundation.
Anyway, after having a make-up clear out this week, I discovered the old Guerlain Lingerie De Peau foundation and concealer compact. I absolutely loved it, until I thought I lost it almost two years ago! I genuinely believed I left it in a toilet of a University that I used to attend. 🙈
Nope, I hadn’t lost it – it had somehow gotten to the bottom of one of my endless amounts of makeup product piles. All was not lost, apparently… Seeing as it was over two years old, there was no way that I was going to wear it and risk a breakout. Instead, I went out to purchase another — only to be told that it’s been discontinued. 😭
The lovely lady at the Guerlain counter mentioned that Bobbi Brown do one (Long Wear Even Finish foundation) that’s similar and I took her word for it. I sat down on a stool at the Bobbi Brown counter – unaware if they stock makeup for my skin tone – (and whether the foundation would be as good as Guerlain). Oh. My… It was!
Your can’t-live-without, long-wearing liquid foundation—in a fuss-free compact. Perfectly matched to skin tone and texture, this formula never looks fake or makeup-y, just like smooth, even skin.
The consistency of this foundation is so smooth, silky and soft – it feels natural, and bare on the skin yet flawless looking. 😍 I’m obsessed. I mean, I don’t even need to follow up with a pressed or loose powder, that’s how good it is. It’s divine.
I know what you’re thinking – “why don’t you try Studio Tech by MAC?”… MAC’s Studio Tech is too thick and cakey in my opinion. I don’t like its appearance on me. I used to wear it a lot in University, until I realised it was the cause of my breakouts. Ever since then, I’ve been a Lush, Dior, MaxFactor or L’Oreal girl – until now… I’m a Bobbi Brown girl now. Yes. Yes, indeed.
So, in a nutshell, Bobbi Brown is my new jam (not suitable for spreading on bread, apologies).
Let’s also appreciate the fact that they even have a lipstick which is of a similar shade to Kylie Jenner’s Dirty Peach – called Salmon. I never have to order online again. 💄💋 I have found my make-up calling. 💁🏻
Bobbi Brown, you need it in your life.
I love Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks…But I’ve only really tried that and an eyeliner. Haven’t tried cream foundations either…are they any good for oily skin? X
I haven’t tried their eyeliners or shimmer brick but I will after reading your comment. 🙂
I have combination to oily skin, it worked fine but I recommend you blot the t-zone just in case (on a hot/humid day). In Winter months, it’s amazing without blotting! Trust me. X
I’ll have to go try it next time I’m near a counter, glad I saw your blog!
Shimmer bricks are amazing! I only found out the other day each part can be used as an eyeshadow too. Apparently that’s one of their selling points (never knew!) lol x
Yes do. They’ve also got a pricey Serum foundation that’s incredible too (apparently). But, I haven’t used it all over yet. I just had a sample tested on me at the counter. Wow! Okay, I’ll definitely be purchasing next time I’m there. I’m glad I’ve met you on here. 🙂 x
