Where are the ‘This Morning‘ production team finding their guests, please? I mean, in the space of less than one week there have been two misogynistic views raised by none other than women!

First it was that “women are more likely to be sexually assaulted if they dress provocatively” and now it’s “women who don’t wear make-up are less likely to secure a job after an interview”.

I’m actually getting extremely tired of this crap now! I expected that (after the very liberating and powerful #WomensMarch) we would be more accepting of femininity and of ladies in general. Alas, we’ve since had women openly shading us on a public scale! If we women are being this misogynistic towards each other, what message are we sending to the chauvinistic and bigoted men like Trump, Farage and Morgan?

Ladies, whether you wear make-up or not, whether you wear provocative clothes or not – you do you! Do what makes you happy! Don’t conform to ideals set by others just to “fit in”. Embrace yourself, embrace your body, embrace your face, your beauty and your character.

When you go for a job interview – provided you’ve showered, look clean, your body language is on point and you’re dressed somewhat smartly (as though you’ve made an effort) – nothing else matters!

If make-up is not your thing, I envy you. At least your skin will age slower and you’re what can be described as a “natural beauty”. Also, you’re getting an extra however many minutes or hours to sleep in the morning! RESULT!

I’ve never actually come across a Job Specification or Description which highlights that a woman “needs to wear make-up” in order to be hired – well, unless they’re applying for jobs at MAC or beauty counters in department stores, that is…

Let me remind you that there are women on Earth who are creating revolutions for us against make-up and fore it. Chimamanda and Alicia Keys to name a couple!

Your skills, personality, body language, experience and what you say in an interview are what get you hired, not what you look like facially. The company also has to consider whether you’re a good fit culturally, again, this has nothing to do with whether you’re partial to eyeliner, some mascara, and a lippie nor does it have anything to do with the fact that you can ‘Kontour Like a Kardashian‘.

Besides, would you hire someone who looks as though they should be appearing on ‘Snog, Marry, Avoid’? Less is definitely more (depending on the type of role you’re applying for).

Love and light,

Miamii

Viktor & Rolf‘s BonBon … (or as I like to call it: “Boom Boom”)!

If you’d like to know what I’ve smelt like for two whole years then look no further than this… Side note: you’re also a tad strange, if so! Don’t worry, I’m pretty sure I’ve wondered what you smell like too… 😂

Anyway, it’s so sweet and sticks to me like superglue. If I spray some on Monday, I can still smell it on my clothes by Wednesday. What happens on Thursday? I spray it again and smell it until Sunday. #7Days #CraigDavid #ReReWind #TheCrowdSayBonBonSelecta (it from John Lewis, Boots or The Perfume Shop).

That, right there, is the sign of a good perfume.

A timeless sensation pure and absolute pleasure. For women who create their own story.

Caramel characterizes the scent’s evolution, from inception to completion, the caramel notes mature from a sharp, edible top note to softer and milkier in the middle then darkening to add depth to the base note of amber, all surrounded by heart notes are of orange blossom and jasmine.

What is Viktor & Rolf’s BonBon shaped like? A beautiful pinky-purple bow.

How much does it cost? £40-something, but the fact that it’s a very strong scent means you only need to spray it once.

My stunningly-amazing mother (JHEEZE! The word “Mother” sounds a little too strong for this post… #Mummy #Motherbear #Momstar #Momski #Momitis 😂) bought it for me in 2014 and I’ve still got it (and it’s half-full) almost three years on!

Yeah, so, Viktor & Rolf, buy into it. #BonBon #SweetLikeBonBon #BonBonBonIWantYouInMyRoom #BonBonBonding

Desperate blogging times call for desperate blogging measures… That is my excuse for this post. Look, there are only so much “life coaching” and “lifestyle” posts that I can publish on here without you guys and dolls thinking that it’s predictable. I’m (and my posts are) nothing of the sort.

So, you’ll know that I’m about to start video-blogging sometime in February or March, but I notice that I haven’t introduced you to my new BAE… The BAE that’s going to record all of my cooking (and future holiday) shenanigans.

Meet my ‘Canon SX610 HS PowerShot Point and Shoot Digital Camera‘ (bloody heck! But, that name still – somehow – manages to be shorter than Donald Trump’s list of things to ruin in the States).

Along with its impressively slim profile and stylish new design, the PowerShot SX610 HS camera boasts a powerful array of advanced capabilities. The 18x Optical Zoom gives you excellent versatility, while Intelligent IS helps ensure virtually shake-free images at any zoom length, and Auto Zoom helps you frame your subject and keep it in focus. Built-in Wi-Fi® and NFC make this a great camera to have with you all day long: send images and video to compatible mobile devices and your computer, share directly with select social networking sites, shoot remotely with your smartphone or tablet and more. Image quality is beautifully sharp and resonant, even when you’re shooting in low light, thanks to the 20.2 Megapixel* High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4+ Image Processor, which together create the Canon HS SYSTEM. And just press the dedicated movie button to capture vividly lifelike 1080p Full HD video. For documenting and sharing your life, the PowerShot SX610 HS camera is the perfect partner.

I purchased this camera in White (there are other alternatives) but mine is the best because it has a gold lens cap which is STUNNING “AF” (aka ‘As Flowers’ because I’ve just brushed my teeth and rinsed with mouthwash).

The quality of the pixels? Somewhere between 18-20. The quantity of Pixies? 0. I wouldn’t mind a Pixie jumping out the box upon unboxing. That would’ve made the £147 I spent on it all the more worthwhile.

Features? It’s got NFC – not Norwich Football Club, so calm your kitties – NFC is sort of like Bluetooth but for your camera and Smartphone. Basically, you can send your videos/pictures from your phone to your camera and/or visa-versa. It also has Wi-Fi, and allows you to zoom in and out, focus the lens, and add filters to your pictures. Look, its filters ain’t got a patch on Instagram, but they’re still good!

What do you get in the box? The camera (I hope), and a charger (thank God), the battery (pretty useful, if you ask me), and a string to hold the camera.

What you don’t get in the box? A Micro-SD card, a tripod (for vlogging or recording short-films) and a case.

What’s good about this camera? It’s portable, stylish, the price (for what you’re investing in) and not to mention the fact that it is legitimately a BAE! Also, FLASH needs to be turned on manually. This means that finally, you can choose how long you go without having to get rushed to the opticians because the FLASH of a camera spontaneously blinded you!

What’s not-so-good about this camera? The quality of indoor photos don’t look that great.

I bought it from Amazon, and I don’t mean the rainforest. Although, I have sent an email to the Press team over there with an enquiry. Should the leader of one of their tribes get back to me, you’ll be the first to know!

Unicorns and rainbows (which are the farts of a Unicorn! #MindBlown),

Dale Pinnock: The Medicinal Chef #VloggingInspo

YES!

I have come up with an idea for my (hopefully) weekly video-blogging series! It’s going to be about quick, healthy, medicinal meals that you can make at home.

I love cooking, I try to cook as much as I can. So, I figured that I should be putting my “not-so talent, more of a hobby” to good use by starting a Cooking Channel. The channel will be called: ‘Cooking with ‘Mii’ because that’s exactly what I hope you’ll be doing.

At some point, I would like to return to University to study a Cooking or Food Technology Masters, learning all there is to know about the science behind flavours and ingredients. I very much enjoyed studying it at GCSE, and I want to continue it. This way, I’ll be merging my Broadcast Journalism BA with an MA in Food. Awesome! I’m hoping to be the next Lorraine Pascal. 😆 #DreamBig #Goals

If you know enough about me, you know I don’t like to repeat myself and do the same thing over and over again… It’ll just be too boring for me to do beauty videos when I do a lot of writing about beauty products here. I love lots of things like horse-riding, gym, eating, cooking, reading, tweeting, reading tweets, I also love music, and going to the cinema.

Oh, yes, about that! I’ve got a membership card that lets me go to the cinema (any branch) as many times as I want, a month!

This means that, if you so wish, I could create an Entertainment section on ‘Beauty Bae’ where I review films for you. Don’t worry though, I won’t spoil the ending or the plot… I’ll just describe what I see in the trailer (even though I’ll have watched the whole thing) and tell you whether I enjoyed it or recommend it.

If you’d like that, get involved below. Whether you like it or not, chat to me. Also, if you have other suggestions for my video-blog – or ways to improve this blog – drop them down there (in the comment section!).

I love reading and replying to y’all!

‘Beauty Bae’ won its SECOND ‘Blogger Recognition Award‘ in less than a month, yesterday! 🏆

 🎉 🎉 🎉

Thank you very much, Bex Faye, for the nomination! I’ve already told you this but: Bex + Fae = BAE. How? Well, B(ex) (F)a(y)e. 👯‍♂️

I don’t want to rewrite what wrote last time but this blog began as a way of giving my hobby (make-up collecting and wearing) a new meaning. I now also collect and wear it for you!

Two new tips for newbie bloggers? Start, just start writing and you’ll see the rest will follow… There is no time like the present, and everyone/everything has to start somewhere. Secondly, choose the time you post carefully, unless you’re bored (like me, currently) and are suffering from insomnia (also me).

I would like to nominate:

1) Babbling Beauty (nice reviews!)

2) Beauty As I See (great content!)

3) Beauty by Aneesa (one of my very first followers)

4) Bex Faye (you were always going to be in this list).

5) Beauty & the Ballroom (again!)

🚨 Disclaimer: my listed bloggers (should they choose to accept their nominations) are to thank the person/s who nominated them, outline how their blog/idea first came about and should give two tips on how newbies or aspiring bloggers can get rid of those first-time blogger/blogging nerves, then they should list their nominations! I look forward to reading your posts. 🚨

📝 Please note that most of my nominees (this time) are bloggers who I’ve known since last year, to commemorate my One Year WordPress-aversary, three days ago. 📝

I will continue to support and interact with all my current (and newer) followers as well as prospective ones!

Thank you, you’re all great and I love you.
