The entire Younique Royalty range

Hello you bunch of legends!

Today, I’ll be writing you a full and frank review about Younique Corporation‘s new(ish) Royalty Range – and not the Frank who lives next door to you, potentially. One choice word keeps coming to mind: “luxurious”.

A little back story on Younique… Younique’s mission is to uplift, empower, validate, and ultimately build self-esteem in women around the world. Some of the profit made by this brand goes to charities that support rape victims, therefore it’s a good cause to get behind.

Derek Maxfield and Melanie Huscroft, a brother-and-sister team, founded Younique in September 2012 with a mission to uplift, empower, and validate women across the globe. Derek and Melanie firmly believe that all women should feel valued, smart, and empowered through opportunities of personal growth and financial reward!

Castor Oil vs Coconut Oil

Castor Oil vs Coconut oil… Which one do you use? If you answered neither, that’s fine, but which one would you choose?

In a similar report published by The Little Health Company they chose to put Coconut Oil up against the equally wonderful Olive Oil (as opposed to Castor Oil) and Coconut Oil won the battle! #WellOilBeDamned

Coconut Oil edges it in our opinion. It’s nourishing properties will leave your hair looking healthy and vibrant will feeling soft and the smell is divine.

The pros of using Castor Oil:

  1. Castor Oil is a thick, stick oil that prevents hair loss by coating strands and helps them stay firmly attached to the root.
  2. It’s is considered an anti-bacterial and anti-fungus which means: in the unlikely event that someone throws mushroom seeds on your hair, you won’t see Portobellos or Shiitakes spurting out later on. #GIrlsJustWannaHaveFUN
  3. Being rich in Omega 3 and fatty acids makes Castor Oil a great contender if you’re looking for an oil to strengthen your nails, hair and/or skin.
  4. This oil also makes your hair glossy but almost too shiny (if overused).
  5. Castor Oil is cost-effective and a little it goes a long way.

The pros of using Coconut Oil:

  1. Coconut Oil stops and prevents dandruff. Similar to Castor Oil, it too is anti-fungal and anti-bacterial – just don’t try cleaning your hands with it after eating, shaking a flu-stricken person’s hand and/or getting off a mode of public transport, it’s oil NOT sanitiser.
  2. This essential oil is also good at protecting against hair shedding and/or head lice thanks to its Vitamins E and K content.
  3. Massaging Coconut Oil into the scalp improves blood circulation, ensures that oxygen is absorbed and strengthening the hair follicles resulting in soft, strong and healthy hair.
  4. It also improves the hair cuticle whilst keeping the scalp moisturised, prohibiting dust and pollution.
  5. Its high in fatty acids nature supplies the hair with protein which helps retain strength and eliminates breakage.
  6. Coconut Oil is one of the very few oils that has what it takes to fix split ends as well as repair damaged hair from root to tip while also smoothening rough, coarse or fizzy hair. #ItsMAGICYouKnow

LUSH Cosmetics don’t just sell bath bombes, you know… They also sell hair care, skincare, make-up, perfume, bubble and massage bars too…

During my lunch break, I headed to my nearest LUSH to try one their massage bars. I was greeted by a lovely Lushie who demoed the Each Peach massage bar on my hand. She rubbed the bar into my skin until it began to melt, explaining all about the ingredients that go into it… She then began massaging the essential oils into my skin – topping it off with a dusting powder.

Although I love the citrussy smell of it and enjoyed how soft it made my skin feel, I opted to purchase the Peace bar instead because I fell in love with the cause… I also knew that my mum would love it because ‘Peace’ is her middle name…

A culmination of the most peaceful ingredients we can find, Peace massage bar is the perfect recipe to settle your soul. We’ve used our new aeration technique to blend Fair Trade organic cocoa butter from the Peace Community in Colombia with Fair Trade olive oil, creating a light, smooth and luxurious massage on the skin. That lovely lavender-chamomile aroma? It’s a combination of four fragrances from our signature Synesthesia massage at our LUSH Spas: Acceptance, Forgiveness, Calm and Content; traits we could all benefit more from. Go on, give Peace a chance.

Okay, so the Peace Bar is a peaceful smelling massage bar that evokes relaxation within you as soon as it absorbs into the skin. Packed with only the best Fair Trade Columbian Cocoa Butter, Fair Trade Shea Butter and Fair Trade Olive Oil, this massage bar is sure to send you to sleep at first contact.

Apparently, the majority of the proceeds of Peace go to the Columbian Peace Community who continue to fight for peace in Columbia.

This supports the self-sustaining farmers who are peacefully protesting the civil unrest in their country.

So, once I finished work, I went home to test out the massage bar on my first client – my mum. I copied the Lushie’s every move to make sure my mum had the best hand and foot massage ever. Like I predicted, she loved the smell, the name, and what it stands for. She also fell asleep mid-massage.

Who knew I gave such good massages?!
