How are you my beauties and the Bae?!
Today, I’m doing a ‘Get The Look’ without the DNA and facial expressions (cos I didn’t purchase those from a drugstore)…
As you can see, I’m back to rocking the fringe that I rock so well! My forehead’ll tell you that it needs it right now… Why? Well, I’ve heard of two-faced people, but never of two headed ones (aside from those conjoined twins, obvs). That’s right, I’m referring to the MAMMOTH ZIT that has pitched up on the left side of my forehead. It hurts like a an absolute B I T — CHHHHHHHHHHH! But, let’s save that rant for another post, shall we?
Aside from the fact that Mount Everest has decided to locate itself on my person (the best way it knows how), things are relatively doing well (complexion wise).
Now, as you can tel from the name of this post, I have updated my makeup routine, and am thoroughly impressed with it – even if I do say so myself… So, without further ado, let’s get down to BUSINESS!
Prep & Prime:
LUSH Cup O’ Coffee (post coming soon)
All I’ll say is, if you’re a fan of your own face (and coffee, that helps), you’ll LOVE this! It’s a mask and scrub (2 in 1), working an absolute treat to clear, cleanse and exfoliate. It leaves your skin so smooth and soft, smelling like the best thing I’ve ever smelled since Nescafé Gold Blend in the process.
LUSH Eau Roma Water
BAE! … I swear that I must mention this product in every beauty-related post. I’m a woman obsessed… I’ve posted about it so much on here that you only have to type the name of it in the search bar to see umpteen posts come up.
Kiehl’s Power Strength Fine-Line Reducing Serum
For the second time in one post, I’ve recently mentioned this on my blog too. Therefore, if you want to read my thoughts – scroll down. Don’t worry though, I’ll sum it up here for you… It’s a saviour for my nasalobials, my fellow smilers would know what I’m talking about.
This Works In Transit Camera Close Up (full post coming soon)
Again, I’ve mentioned this a previous Glossybox post but have yet to write a full post dedicated to its loveliness. However, I’d like you to know that I’m on it. Trust me.
Primer: L’Oréal Infallible Mattifying Base
Another regular on this blog… I plug this bad boy every chance I get. What an actual LOVER in (and for) the FACE!
Foundation: Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum
Here’s another thing I’ve featured on my blog previously… If I want to know what I thought, go check it out. Don’t want to? Fine, be like that! Read on to find out.
I absolutely love it. It smells increds and just suits my skin tone/type very well. It’s the only liquid foundation that works well me…
If you’ follow my blog closely, you’ll know I usually love to review creamy and thick foundations… I’m changing it up. This is a good alternative.
Concealer: Bourjois Healthy Mix (post coming soon)
Yes, I know I said “I don’t use concealer” countless times before… What can I say? There’s a first time for everything (like all the legendary young people who went to vote yesterday, thank you and well done!).
I am converted. I apply this under my eyes, on my chin and the bridge of my nose and Cupid’s bow. Funny story, I was in M&S, at the self-checkouts, and the voiceover woman started piping up about an “unexpected product in the baggage area” when nothing was on it… I then realised that it may actually be my eye-bags that are causing the alarm. (Yeah, I know). The poor woman must’ve facial recognised my head and noticed 2 tonnes of baggage under my lids and thought ‘do we sell that? That’s unexpected. Let’s sound the alarm’. Savage beach!
That, right there, is why I have begun wearing concealer.
Setting Powder: MAC Studio Fix
This is the only powder I use. I love it and (like most things in this post) have raved about it plenty of times on here. Go find it like Nemo and Dory.
Contour: Bourjois Delice de Poudre Duo (coming soon)
I know I’ve said some pretty negative/constructive things about this product before… However, I have learned to love it (and use it appropriately).
I used it when I was a teen (because just about every girl in my year and school did) but didn’t like it at the time because it made me look like Tanmom.
However, since becoming somewhat of a “contour connoisseur”, I now love it. It also helps that I have a shade that matches my skin tone (which I didn’t before).
(There’s a Highlighter shade attached in the packaging, I highlight the bridge of my nose and Cupid’s bow along with the areas above the cheeks).
Benefit Hoola… (yes, two bronzers! 😍)
Just when I thought I was doing a new “Get The Look”, I realise that every product in this ‘new look’ (or most of them) has been featured on #BeautyBae. I think I should change the name of this post to “recycling all the makeup products featured to create a new look”… Hmm, needs work!
Anyway, yeah, this is what I mix the Bourjois bronzer with to create more chisled/sculpted cheekbones. The shades are very similar at first glance but look beautiful when mixed together.
NYX Cream Matte Liquid Lipstick in Abu Dhabi
Ducking hell! (quack). For the billionth time, I’ve brought this up on my blog before as well… Oh, just look it up you sexy but lazy human! Thanks. It’s a nude lipstick that makes my lips look plumper (oddly enough).
Double Extension by L’Oréal
I love this and surprise, surprise… I’ve typed up a review about this too. Oh, just leave me here to imagine myself frolicking in fields of Rye, as Joey Essex would say: #norty.
Benefit They’re Real (washed wand)
No, seriously… I am a huge fan of its wand. It really separates the lashes out and declumps well. What’s more, it helps to curl them too and volumise them more.
MAC’s Prep & Prime
Okay. I need to be honest… I reviewed this in the past and said some negative things… Well, nothing rude or critical, just that I felt it was overrated. I would like to take everything I said in that post back, now.
Wow. How perceptions change…
Recently, this water has been my saving grace. I love it. I love, love, love it.
It’s refreshing and I’ve noticed a real difference in my skin’s appearance and type. It’s no longer combination, just glowy – in a nice way. Thanks, MAC!
(I even use this as a primer – on its own – sometimes)
