This one’s for you Optimus or Amazon Prime(rs)!

It’s PRIME time for talking about PRIMING our skins and what products to use when doing so…

For those of you who are newbies to make-up, primers are important bases under makeup. They add moisture to the skin that goes beyond your morning moisturiser and act as a barrier to stop your foundation seeping into your skin and blocking the pores. The primer just sits on top of your skin, like an extra layer if you like… It makes the foundation application, coverage and overall look a lot smoother!

Benefit have a POREfessional primer out. This is relatively old, I don’t think it’s new – I mean, they may have changed the packaging or the formula since, but it’s pretty samey and has been around for a while.

It’s a thick, silicon-esque consistency, like L’Oréal’s Infallible one. I have to say, although it blurred out my pores nicely, L’Oréal’s Infallible one did the same job, for a cheaper price (especially considering there was more product in L’Oreal’s one).

Look, Benefit’s one is good, but I did find it left oily marks on my face once I’d finished my make-up. My skin’s combination-oily so, I don’t think that helped matters. Again, L’Oréal’s was mattifying.

Try them both out and let me know, yeah? Comment your thoughts and we’ll chat!
