This book series is BAE to me! I, truth be told, haven’t got past the ‘I Heart… London‘ book but, it’s a great series nonetheless hence why I’m sharing it with you.
If you’re familiar with the work of Sophie Kinsella, and love it, you’ll love this. It’s a comedic and romantic novel that’s set in modern times. It’s one that you won’t be able to put down or stop laughing at.
This series is so good that I’m actually quite worried as to why it hasn’t been made into a full-length Hollywood movie…
Lindsey Kelk = bae. No, seriously, what an actual bae! I’d go as far as to say that she is “bae” personified. If I was going to be a writer, I’d want to write like her. #Authorspiration #Writerspiration
The book follows Angela Clark, a journalist, who flees the U.K. after she breaks up with a long-term boyfriend.
She then, as you do, gives up her entire livelihood to start a new life in the States. That’s where she meets her new roommate (a receptionist at a hotel which she stays at in the early days), starts writing for a well-known Women’s magazine and falls in love with a rockstar, who becomes her boyfriend further on into the first book. The chemistry between Angela and her new boyfriend is absolutely everything, and so is their banter… Their relationship is so lovely, but it does – further into the series – get tested. I won’t say any more than that…
This is just a brief synopsis because as far as I know, there have been seven books thus far, and each one focuses on a different aspect of Angela’s life (and location around the World), and it’s done in a very funny way.
It’s a very well-written book that’s not going to disappoint (I hope!) and one that needs to be a staple to any girl’s handbag, kindle or luggage before heading off on holiday, this year.
If you’ve read the books and/or are familiar with them, let me know your thoughts… Alternatively, if you haven’t, give them a go and tell me what you think… Finally, if you haven’t and will be needing more information before reading, comment below – asking me any question you may have and I’ll do my best to get it answered in as much detail!
