Me after my Miumba session, tonight.

This is progress. Together with eating right, sleeping well, and working out persistently for longer than a week or two – this is what happens…

The results you are seeing here are not just from my Miumba sessions, though. You may or may not know this but I’ve been on the “lose weight” journey for months (if not years). However, it was only up until recently that I committed myself fully and applied the effort needed to see results. Prior to this, I was always looking for a painless quick fix. Trust me, that doesn’t exist.

Of course my regular trips to the gym – use of cross trainer, treadmill and power plate and endless personal training *inductions* – really helped me achieve these goals, but it’s also down to patience and perseverance. I won’t stop now… I’ll keep this up until I get to where I want to be.

Me in Summer 2016

I don’t have many “before” photos because I hated looking at my body in the mirror, let alone having full-body photos taken of me. The biggest I’ve been is 72kg (last Spring-Summer), I was told by the doctor that my weight then was over my maximum BMI. So, I started this journey predominantly for my health.

Finally, I want to mention that the biggest transformation is not in getting fitter or shifting the pounds… My biggest transformation is finally beginning to love myself and the body that I’ve been given whilst treating it well (through exercise, food, and good rest). What’s more, I have changed my mindset. I am no longer a “slave to the scales”. I haven’t weighed myself for over a month and this actually makes me happy. Numbers on a scale aren’t important, they don’t define us… What’s important is that we are happy, healthy, or putting the work required to make us happy and healthy. Besides, when you put the work in – you’ll eventually start noticing the weight drop in other ways like: loose or better fit clothing, a slender silhouette, and an improvement in stamina, fitness and overall health.

Love and light,
